
Senior Economist with more than twenty years of experience at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. Specialty areas include macroeconomic research, monetary policy, financial stability analysis, financial sector surveillance, and climate policy analysis. Currently the Senior Economist of the Macroprudential Analysis Unit, leading analytical work supporting systemic risk assessment, stress testing, and macroprudential analysis. Extensive experience in translating research into policy advice and financial sector reforms. Published research papers in areas such as monetary policy, fiscal policy, financial stability, and climate change.
Significant contributions:
• Co-developed the macroprudential stress testing framework to improve financial stability analysis and policy implementation.
• Led the development of the Residential Mortgage Market Reference Rate to add transparency to pricing and terms and conditions of residential mortgages so borrowers could make informed decisions on home acquisition.
• Co-developed a house price index to track housing market risks and assist borrowers and lenders in making informed decisions.
• Published various research papers on monetary policy, fiscal policy, stress testing, and climate change.
