I was offered a position in Singhs Auto Rentals by the manager of the establishment and the financial director. Relocating provided increased opportunities for learning and advancement within the company. This roll included record keeping, reports, employee support, problem solving, invoicing and accounting data entry where I was introduced to Peachtree. This position enhanced my organizational and communication skills, effective time management, multitasking and office proficiency.
I began my journey with the company in a subsidiary, Fresh Street Farmers Market. My primary duty was the procurement of goods for sale, negotiations with sales representatives to ensure, estimate budgets, evaluate current and potential vendors for product quality assurance, and the ability to meet deadlines, as well as continuously monitor stock levels to determine cost-effective purchases. My employment at this establishment gave me the opportunity to also take on the roles in accounting and at times data entry. The accounting mainly focus on the daily cash flow in and out of the business and reports to the Financial Director. My time there, even though short, made me a well-rounded employee as I took on two important roles, purchasing and accounting.
My duties, aside from teaching students, were to take care of the day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, as well as interact with the parents/ guardians to ensure satisfaction. This profession required a level of self-discipline, patience and diligence as well as consistent focus and care. I was also required to do the bookkeeping and monitor the cash flow in and out of the business.
My primary objective was providing exceptional customer service in fast-paced environment while attending to them. My main duties were to maintain, update and organize office records by keeping files properly stored as well as transferring all records from hardcopy to soft copy, assisting with/ completing the daily bookkeeping, assisting co-workers, updating inventory as well as its allocation and answering and directing multiple phone calls. I maintained a status as a full-time employee while attending the School of Accounting and Management.
