As a first-year student at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, I am excited to explore opportunities in the technology industry. Although I may not have professional experience yet, I possess many skills including critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork which makes me a valuable asset. I am actively seeking opportunities to apply my classroom knowledge in a real-world setting and contribute value to a dynamic team.

Wordle

• Developed a word game using C++, where the user has 6 tries to guess a 5-letter word. If a letter in the word is at the correct position in the word, it is displayed in a green font color, if the letter is in the word but at the wrong position, it is displayed in a yellow font color and if the letter is not in the word, it is displayed in the default font color.
• This project helped me to become familiar with C++ strings and string manipulation using the string library. I became more familiar with the nested loop concept.

Superhero Battle

• Developed a web application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to simulate a superhero battle. The superhero data is accessed through a superhero API. The winner is determined based on the difference in power, combat, and speed stats.
• This project helped me to become familiar with client-side rendering and Asynchronous JavaScript. I took on this project having a weak foundation in JavaScript, so I found myself researching many things which ultimately strengthened my knowledge on JavaScript and APIs.

Hangman

• Developed a hangman game using Python, where the user guesses letters to guess a randomly selected word. This application uses ASCII art to let the user have a smooth experience when playing the game. The words are randomly selected from a Python module.
• This project helped me to build a solid foundation in Python Programming since it covered many key topics such as string manipulation, lists and modules.
