With a (9) nine year foundation in the banking sector, I entered the shipping industry in 1998. Through dedication and perseverance, I quickly worked my way up through the ranks from Accounts Clerk to Assistant Comptroller at Tecmarine Trinidad Limited. During my tenure with Tecmarine, in addition to my primary job functions as Assistant Comptroller, I was a key member of an executive team charged with the responsibility of setting up financial systems and procedures in Tecmarine's regional offices including Antigua, St. Lucia and St. Maarten. Arising from an initiative taken to establish a Regional Accounting Department based in Trinidad, I spearheaded a finance team which functioned in the capacity of principal voyage accountants. This opportunity enabled me to gain vast exposure from the perspective of both agent and principal. My experience, along with my insatiable appetite for personal growth and development gave credence to my appointment as Accounts Manager of Caribbean Shipping Agencies Ltd in April of 2003. This position I held until January 31, 2010 when I took up the post of Business Development and Human Resource Manager. In August 2014, I was appointed Managing Director where ably supported by a dynamic management team, I contributed towards solidifying the Company’s reputation as one of the leading shipping and customs brokerage service providers in the Country. Propelled by my various job functions, the continued evolution of my career has enabled me to become a well-rounded and highly respected servant of the shipping industry. In April of 2017, I joined one of the premier NVO/Freight Forwarders in the region, PAS Cargo USA/Piarco Air Services Limited, in the capacity of Business Development Manager where in addition to developing new business opportunities, I am responsible for identifying and correcting procedural and client service gaps in an effort to improve overall customer satisfaction. A former member of the Executive council of the Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago for over 5 years, my last position as Trustee gives further testament to my continued development and fuels my desire to contribute positively towards the growth of the maritime sector where I anticipate I will leave a positive impression with all whom I interface with.
