Operations

bpTTLLC
Offshore, Trinidad
07.2006 - 12.2018

Role – Production operations with 8 years supervisory

Operations on the Cassia platform which supported the Kapok, Mango and Cannonball unmanned facilities; re-assigned to the development team in 2009 on the Serrette project with core responsibilities of electrical and instrumentation pre-commissioning and last phase construction at TOFCO fabrication yard. In 2010 transitioned into the startup team working alongside the drilling and completions, Designed and managed the nitrogen topside leak test which was executed with equipment on a DSV (dive support vessel). Wrote the procedure planning for well hook-up and first gas, with subsequent production of all 4 wells.

2010 -2011 certified in OPITO major emergency management and moved into a shift lead role; resulting from the success and safe startup of all 4 wells of the Serrette project. Transferred permanently to the Rowan EXL II drilling rig for its campaign in completing new drills and side tracks on the Savonette, Cashima, Kapok and Cannonball unmanned facilities.

Core Responsibilities –

Operations

ü Operation of Production and Injection wells from the point the well is brought on line until it is finally abandoned. Maximised hydrocarbon production while optimising the recovery of reserves. The skill group includes an understanding of the factors that affect the flowing performance of the well, including reservoir properties, architecture and pressure, completion type & system pressures.

ü Operating production systems and equipment used to process natural gas from the tree through to export fiscal metering. This includes primary and secondary separation. Key elements include: · production chokes, 3 phase separator operation, level measurement and control (including factors which affect accuracy and reliability), production well testing (including fluid sampling), result validation and reporting, chemical treatment of produced fluids (including biocide, methanol injection), export specification requirements, process shutdown systems condensate booster and export pump operation and export metering. Gas needs to be processed from separation to facility export.

ü Executed isolation/deisolation for pigging operations; supervised operations in line with set/approved procedures.

ü Wells testing for reservoir monitoring. - Execution of testing to ensure integrity of the assets.

ü Production operation, Supervision and Control - Ensured the safe, efficient and effective operation of the process/safety system and equipment to shutdowns ensuring maximum uptime.

ü Process and Production Shutdown & Start-up: Monitor and oversee planned and unplanned shutdowns and associated start-up.

ü Responsible for reviewing electrical and mechanical equipment operability/integrity ranging from UPS, generators, turbines, pumps & compressors highlighting gaps then driving correctives using Maximo and SAP.

ü Optomising production to minimize well damage and productivity impairment.

ü Interrogate and trouble-shoot control systems as they relate to stable control, start-up, transition, & shutdown logic, and advanced control

Understanding key parameters of hydrocarbon process flow from reservoir to dispatch across a facility and knowledge of utilities required to support this, the controlling technology, electrical and power requirements, mechanical equipment, shutdown and start-up logic, key flow capacities, and measurement methodology.

Logistics

ü Maintained logistics database for support vessels and people. Conferred with logistics management teams on optimization and cost efficiency.

ü Trained in aircraft systems, company operations policy, meteorology and Air Regulations as Aviation Authority

Incident Commander (Major Emergency Management) –

ü Generated and reviewed emergency response procedures.

ü Planned and executed drills based on response plans

Supervisory management –

ü Supported the daily operations as guided by the Upstream Control of Work practice.

ü Optomised the activity set to deliver strategy; driving processes to make portfolio choices, allocated resources, assessed and responded to risks.

ü Reviewed and approved work packs aligned with the 2 & 6 week gate compliance.

ü Managing all of the work conducted by an average workforce of 20 people offshore facilities overseeing SIMOPS drilling activities.

ü Supported compliance of the industry legislation such as CAA, MOE, MOH and OSHA.

ü Design and execution of safe isolation and reinstatement of plant.

Achievements

ü Wrote procedures for the safe startup of wells for Serrette, Savonette, Cashima, Mango and Cannonball

ü Designed isolation and reinstatement plans/procedures for breaking containment

ü Developed schedules for well tie in and handover

ü Managed SIMOPS work between drilling and operations, not limited to contracted support services – Massy Wood Group, ADON, Cameron, Well Services, Baker Petrolite, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, Analyser Services and many more.

ü Executed activities with 0 (Zero) loss time incidents over a span of 19 years

ü Maintained 99% reliability of all safety systems

Collected data to drive the redesign of the ultrasonic gas detectors by the OEM.

ü Implemented the Control of Work policies at the offshore platform level
