I am an experienced Biology teacher with a proven track record in primary and secondary education. My skills include educational technology, team building, organizational abilities, and report writing. I hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and a Diploma in Education with Distinction from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
Lesson Planning and Delivery:
- Conduct lessons on a scheduled basis.
- Deliver the Biology curriculum to students in 9th grade and above.
- Deliver the Environmental Science curriculum to students in 9th grade and above.
- Utilize online platforms such as Google Classroom, Zoom, and Edmodo for virtual lesson delivery, exam preparation, and assessment corrections.
Additional Duties:
- Prepare examinations and grade exam scripts.
- Conduct homeroom periods where students learn life skills.
- Plan and oversee activities for the Environmental Club, including student participation in regional competitions.
- Organize field trips and accompany students to competitions and seminars.
- Perform lab demonstrations for school-based assessments.
Achievements:
- Received a Green Leaf Award for merit for constructing a water filtration system on the school’s grounds.
- Students have earned several scholarships and achieved regional placement in their Caribbean Secondary Examination (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE).
- The school has been awarded two Young Leader Awards during my tenure as a supervising teacher for the Canadian-based Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) program.
